The faith at our center.

These seven convictions shape what we teach, how we worship, and the way we seek to follow Jesus together.

We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three distinct, equally divine persons eternally at work in creation, redemption, and the world.

We believe the Bible is divinely inspired and authoritative for faith and practice. We understand Scripture through the life and teachings of Jesus.

We believe Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, crucified, and raised from the dead. He ascended into heaven and will return to fully establish God’s Kingdom, bringing resurrection and eternal life to those who believe.

Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, forgiveness and reconciliation with God are available to all who repent and place their faith in him. Those who believe become part of God’s family, the Church.

We believe followers of Jesus are called to baptism and regular communion, practices that proclaim and remember his work and strengthen our unity.

We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer, giving gifts that strengthen the Church and empower ministry. Believers may also experience a distinct empowering work of the Spirit.

We believe God can bring physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. We pray for healing while trusting in God’s compassion and power, whether through immediate intervention or sustaining grace.

Faith takes practice.

Following Jesus is more than agreeing with a set of beliefs. It’s a way of life we’re learning together. Three shared practices shape who we’re becoming, both individually and as a community.

Abide

We make space to be with God through Scripture, prayer, worship, and reflection. Attentive to the Holy Spirit, we learn to remain in Jesus and let his teachings shape our everyday lives.

Belong

We share life beyond a weekly gathering. Through meals, friendships, honest conversations, and mutual care, we learn to show up for one another in both ordinary and difficult seasons.

Love

We seek the good of our neighbors and city. That means sharing our time, resources, abilities, and presence, and finding practical ways to embody the love Jesus taught.

Room for different perspectives.

We don’t agree on every theological or cultural question, and we don’t expect everyone to arrive with the same answers. We approach our differences with humility, curiosity, and respect, while remaining grounded in Jesus and committed to the dignity and full belonging of every person.

A church shaped by the way of Jesus.

Madison Church gathering in 2015, during our second year.

Madison Church began in 2014 with a conviction: people were genuinely curious about faith and spirituality, especially Jesus, but too often the church itself seemed to be an obstacle to exploring that curiosity. We believed it shouldn’t be that way.

We didn’t want to make Jesus less challenging or following him less demanding. We wanted to remove unnecessary barriers so people could encounter Jesus, discover his teachings, and consider what it means to follow him.

Since then, we’ve gathered in different places, welcomed new people, said goodbye to others, and navigated seasons of change. Not every season has been easy. But through it all, we’ve continued returning to the same calling: connecting people with God and each other.

More than a decade later, we’re still learning what it means to follow Jesus together. Our story continues to unfold, shaped by the people who share in it and the work of God among us.
